When a person goes behind bars, their life is frozen, yet the world outside keeps rushing forward. What happens when the colony gates finally open? In theory, there is a process called resocialization—the restoration of social status, work skills, and psychological balance. The state is supposed to extend a helping hand, but in the reality of Belarus, this process often turns into yet another punishment. Especially when women go through the system.
